Low youth participation in elections is a common problem in many countries. As future leaders of our societies, it’s important to encourage young people to take an active role in the political process. To address this issue, members of the European Democratic Youth Network (EDYN) recently came together to organize a roundtable event focused on increasing youth participation in elections.

On February 12th, EDYN members from the V4 countries – the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia – met for a brainstorming session at a coworking space. The participants identified low youth participation in elections as a common issue across the V4 countries and decided to work together to find a solution.

The roundtable event aims to provide a comprehensive overview of youth participation in elections and identify best practices for increasing participation. To achieve this, four speakers from four different countries have been invited to share their experiences and insights. The presentations will cover various topics, including statistical data on youth participation, effective strategies for engaging young people in the political process, and real-world examples of successful campaigns.

One of the key outcomes of the event will be a handbook that includes the DOs and DON’Ts of political marketing, which can be used to improve youth participation in elections across the V4 countries. The handbook will be a valuable resource for anyone looking to increase youth participation in elections in their own country.

EDYN members believe that the roundtable event is a great opportunity to collaborate and share knowledge, and they hope it will positively impact the V4 countries. They are committed to promoting youth participation in democracy and believe that the event will inspire young people to get involved in their respective countries’ political processes.

In conclusion, the roundtable event organized by EDYN members is an important step toward increasing youth participation in elections. By working together and sharing best practices, the V4 countries can make progress toward a more inclusive and democratic future. EDYN is committed to continuing its efforts to promote youth participation in democracy and looks forward to making a positive impact in the future.

Join the virtual roundtable on March 22 at 6 pm CET. More info on our social media.
