It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend, Serhiy Ikonnikov, Member of the European Democracy Youth Network, Ukraine. Serhiy was brutally killed on the frontline by the aggressor country russia on October 13, an exact day of his 25th birthday.

“Serhiy was an active and responsible citizen, soldier, politician, academic, EDYNer, a devoted friend, and a true hero. His selfless devotion to Ukraine and unwavering commitment to the fight for freedom have left an indelible mark on many EDYN members,” said Daryna Onyshko, EDYN President.

The memory of Serhiy will forever serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made in the pursuit of liberty and justice. And we at EDYN will strive to uphold the values he fought for, ensuring his legacy endures as a beacon of hope and inspiration for all who seek a brighter and more just future.

We will all miss Serhiy more than words can express.
