EDYN is gearing up for its Presidential and Leadership Council (LC) elections, which will take place in November and December 2025. These elections are one of the most important moments in EDYN’s calendar, offering all members the opportunity to shape the network’s leadership and future direction.

This year’s elections will be conducted under EDYN’s new Charter, which introduces clearer, simpler, and more transparent procedures to ensure fairness and inclusivity across all chapters.

At the Leadership Council meeting on October 2, members agreed on the updated election procedures and timeline and nominated an Election Committee to oversee the process together with EDYN HQ. The members of this committee are Amila Husic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Petru Cretu (Moldova), and Jan Gondek (Czechia).

Please read the election information carefully, including the detailed timeline and procedures, which explain how you can nominate yourself or another member.

Country Lead Elections (same as Leadership Council members)

Each member will vote for one Country Lead, who will represent their chapter on the Leadership Council and serve a two-year term. (e.g., if you are a member of EDYN Hungary, you will be voting for the Hungarian Country Lead).

Who can vote and run: All EDYN members.
How elections are held: Anonymous online voting through a secure online platform managed by the current Leadership Council members. In countries without LC representation, EDYN HQ will organize the voting.
Mandate: Two years.

Presidential Elections

Who can vote and run: All EDYN members.
How elections are held: All members vote in an election organized by their Country Chapter in a national vote. Members vote anonymously using a secure online platform. Once voting is completed, the Country Lead submits the national results to EDYN HQ and the Leadership Council. The Leadership Council then holds a final vote, where each Country Chapter has one (1) vote representing the outcome of its national election. The candidate with the simple majority becomes the EDYN President.
Mandate: Two years.

Election procedure:

  • Every EDYN member votes for one presidential candidate within their Country Chapter.
  • The votes are counted at the chapter level.
  • The candidate with the majority wins one Country Chapter vote.
  • The Leadership Council then tallies these Country Chapter votes to elect the President.

(Example: If a majority of Hungarian members choose Candidate A, and a majority of Slovak members choose Candidate B, the Hungarian Chapter’s vote will go to Candidate A and the Slovak Chapter’s vote will go to Candidate B in the Leadership Council round.)
