Power Talk with President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski Activities

On March 4, 2021, European Democracy Youth Network (EDYN) members were given the opportunity to attend a virtual Power Talk with distinguished guest, President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski.

The EDYN Power Talks series began after the COVID-19 pandemic, as a means for EDYN members to remain engaged in the network and meet with experts and professionals in the realm of international affairs and democratic governance. The March 4thPower Talk was hosted in partnership with the International Republican Institute (IRI), National Democratic Institute (NDI), and the Presidential Center for Political Education.

EDYN President Malik Sakic and member Daria Onyshko moderated the event, focused primarily on “Brain Drain” and the state of democracy in Europe. President Pendarovski discussed emigration as a product of rule of law, politicization, and the role of young people in the political process, stating “political leaders have the responsibility to provide the best quality of life for young people, whereas youth should amplify their voices and lead positive change in their communities.” Over fifty EDYN members and a number of external guests joined the event for the opportunity to hear President Pendarovski and engage in a Q&A session.
