Apply for International Debate Competition Activities Members

Published October 10, 2023

We are happy to announce a new and exciting activity in partnership with Comunitatea Plus, which was founded by 3 EDYN members. Together, we are launching an international debate competition exclusively for all EDYN Members.

Comunitatea Plus has an extensive experience in youth projects, organizing Erasmus+ Training Courses and the Critical Thinking School “Challenger” for 10 years, projects that have debates as the main methodology. The main trainer is Serghei Cebotari, a debate instructor with over 20 years of experience, and a coordinator of youth projects for over 15 years.

The best part is that no prior experience in debates is required! We have planned four informative training sessions to be on the same page:

1) Getting to Know Each Other and the Structure of an Argument
2) How to Write a Strategy
3) Structure of Debates and How to Attack
4) Demo Debate

These training sessions will be conducted every Tuesday at 19:00 CET time, starting from the 17th of October. Mark your calendars with these important dates! (17, 24, 31, 7). All the trainings and debate matches will be online.

Now, let’s talk about the main event – the debate competition. The topic that represents us most and would help us to boost democracy in our countries: “Youth Should Be More Involved in Governance Processes.” This topic will bring insightful research and discussions and provide a great platform for improving debate skills and democracy knowledge.

To apply for this competition, please follow this link (deadline to apply is the 15th of October): https://forms.gle/RtCmJejXSLdWmAZ58

You don’t need to assemble a team exclusively from your own Country Chapter. Teams can be composed of members from different Country Chapters, boosting cross-cultural collaboration, and enriching your network. Only one application per team is enough.

If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us here: [email protected]

Let’s make this international debate competition a memorable and intellectually stimulating experience for all EDYN Members. We look forward to your application and participation!
