The European Democracy Youth Network (EDYN) is now accepting applications for new members! The 2024 annual recruitment call opens on Monday, 28 October, and will remain open until Sunday, 10 November, 23:59 (CET).

Membership Criteria

Applicants must be between 18 and 32 years old, and citizens or current residents of an EDYN country: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Ukraine. Applicants should be politically or civically engaged in their communities and committed to EDYN’s values as outlined in the 2019 Berlin Declaration. As an EDYN member, you are expected to defend freedom and fundamental human rights, collaborate across ideological and political divides to address societal challenges, refrain from hate speech in all forms, and develop knowledge, character, and skills that can be applied to the betterment of society.

Membership Benefits

As an EDYN Member, you will:

  • Join a dynamic and diverse international network of over 750 pro-democracy young leaders and be part of a community of established young changemakers.
  • Access exclusive capacity-building trainings, and leadership development programs.
  • Participate in networking and exchange opportunities, study visits, summer/winter schools across the U.S. and Europe.
  • Attend or speak at international conferences, panel discussions, and special events with global leaders.
  • Apply for microgrants for member-driven initiatives.
  • Take leadership roles within your country chapter, including the chance to be elected as an EDYN Ambassador, Leadership Council Member, or EDYN President.

Timeline for International Recruitment Call

  • Call Opens: 28 October
  • Call Closes: 10 November, 23:59 (CET)
  • Selection Process: 11 – 24 November
  • Acceptance and Rejection Notifications: 25 – 27 November
